Body Brushing - "Sweep" Your Skin for a Detoxifying Experience!

Body Brushing is a highly recommended technique for daily exfoliation.
Thank you to "healthylivinghowto.com" to whom I credit this post.

Detoxifying your body can come in many ways.  Commonly we hear of everything from pills to liquid detox concoctions. One of the five major paths of body detoxification deals with the skin.  Of course the body can also use the colon, kidneys, liver, and lungs. Of these, our skin is the largest elimination organ. Up to a third of all body impurities are excreted through the skin. It releases a pound of waste each day and will be the first organ to show symptoms of imbalance or toxicity. If your skin cannot efficiently release toxins, you may experience rashes, acne, hives, itchiness, body odor, or even eczema and psoriasis.  Dry skin brushing is an easy therapy you can add to your daily detox program. Consistent daily dry skin brushing is cleansing and eliminates more waste material than any soap could, and of added benefit, the skin is not robbed of its natural oils needed to keep it from becoming too dry. Dry skin brushing tones the skin, improves circulation, and aids in relieving skin conditions.
How To Dry Skin Brush
Dry skin brushing means brushing the skin without the use of water or soaps. When dry brushing the body, brush the limbs with an upward movement towards the heart. Make long sweeps and avoid back and forth motions. Start at your feet, move up the legs, then work from arms to chest. Every brush motion should be directed towards the heart. Start by brushing skin gently until it becomes conditioned. Avoid brushing the breasts entirely. Avoid brushing the parts of your body that are irritated, damaged or infected.

Consistency Is Key with Dry Skin Brushing
Dry skin brushing stimulates and invigorates the whole body. If done daily, it will drastically improve the look of your skin and overall feeling of wellbeing along with facilitating the body’s natural detoxification process.

How Dry Brushing May Benefit You

  • Regulates and increases blood circulation and lymph flow
  • Revitalizes and increases your skins ability to eliminate toxins out of the system
  • Rejuvenates the nervous system by stimulating nerve endings in the skin
  • Contributes to healthier muscle tone and diminishes appearance of cellulite
  • Gently removes dead layers of skin and other impurities
  • Stimulates the hormone and oil producing glands responsible for keeping your skin looking and feeling young, smooth and strong

Who Has Heard of Glutathione?

I have had a few great educational conversations with clients this week over the topic of Glutathione.

Glutathione is naturally occurring substance that acts as:
  • a detoxifier
  • an antioxidant
  • immune system booster
Additionally, it can help your body repair damage caused by:
  • Stress
  • Pollution
  • Radiation
  • Infection
  • Drugs
  • Poor Diet
  • Aging
  • Injury
  • Trauma
  • Burns

Sounds awesome, right !?  It is...

Not a lot of people know that you can take Glutathione..

Orally
or

Intramuscluar
Glutathione is not well absorbed orally, making the injection delivery a much more effective option.
The oral supplement seen here is great for recycling the glutathione that the body naturally produces and has inside of itself.
This is a preventative supplement used to reduce the free radical damage in the body and help prevent disease and inflammation. So if you are after anti-aging at the highest degree, check out Glutathione!

7 Secret Foods Giving You Gorgeous Skin

Looking for natural ways to improve your skin and place the cosmetics on the back burner?  Here are a few foods to get you what you want in your complexion and save you money when you may need it.  A lot of the foods listed below can be combined throughout recipes during your day, giving your skin a natural regimen to enjoy everyday while being a convenient and easy-to-follow system for you.

1. Pumpkin Seeds

If you're only eating pumpkin seeds in October, you're missing out. Loaded with zinc, vitamin E, sulfur, and omega-3 fats, the seeds heal, nourish, restore, and hydrate the skin. They can also repair blemish marks when you've had a breakout.
The Quick and Easy: Eat pumpkin seeds raw because their delicate fats are destroyed when exposed to too much heat. Toss them into an arugula salad, add a tablespoon of pumpkin seeds to a smoothie, or simply snack on them.
2. Papaya
You've probably used papaya in a facial scrub, but are you eating it, too? Papaya is not only an exfoliant, but also a Vitamin C serum.  Containing two days' worth of vitamin C, which helps to brighten and tighten skin. papaya is packed with vitamin A compounds, which regulate cell turnover in much the same way as topical retinol-A. Papaya also contains the digestive enzyme, papain, which helps decrease redness in the skin by combating inflammation.
Quick and Easy Papaya Concoctions: A golden smoothie made with papaya, almond milk, and raw honey is a skin elixir. Or for dinner, fish topped with a papaya and cilantro salsa.

3. Beets

Beets reverse dull skin by stimulating the lymphatic system and removing waste from our cells. Beets can also increase the oxygen-carrying ability in the blood by 400 percent, bringing brightness and vitality to the skin. They may even help reduce the appearance of cellulite by strengthening the dermal skin layer.
The Quick and Easy: 16 ounces of beet juice will have skin looking peachy and pretty for up to 12 hours. If juice isn't your thing, try a roasted beet salad or grate raw beets into a spinach salad.
4. Coconut Kefir

You've heard of coconut water. Now it's time to get acquainted with its even richer counterpart, coconut kefir, which is made by fermenting coconut water with beneficial bacteria. A shot of coconut kefir contains 15 billion CFU of probiotics, which is three times more than most commercial yogurt. These beneficial bacteria keep skin clear by crowding out pathogenic microbes, which can cause acne and hormonal imbalances.
Sweet-Tooths Rejoice! - Coconut kefir is naturally sweet, which means it can also help to appease cravings for sugar.
The Quick and Easy: Drinking coconut kefir first thing in the morning on an empty stomach helps keep more of the active probiotic enzymes alive.
5. Black Sesame Seeds
Black sesame seeds help restore your skin's radiance and elasticity; containing a high abundance of skin-beautifying nutrients. Packed with essential fats, oleic acid, amino acids, potassium, and fiber.
The Quick and Easy: Sprinkle black sesame seeds over an organic green salad or mix into a quinoa salad; add them to avocado on toast in the morning.
6. Lemons

Lemon juice helps remove fat-soluble toxins and old hormones, which may trigger breakouts and worsen oily skin. Lemon and hot water in the morning is no secret in the world of health and beauty.  Lemon juice also emulsifies fats, which helps keep skin hydrated. Lemon rind contains the flavonoid limonoid, which kills bacteria in the mouth and intestines, preventing bacterial-driven acne flare-ups.

The Quick and Easy: Using the juice of at least half a lemon will yield great detoxifying benefits. Also add more lemon into your diet by using a lemon and olive oil dressing (versus a balsamic vinaigrette) and by topping sautéed vegetables with organic lemon zest.
7. Red Cabbage
Anthocyanins, the same purple pigment found in blueberries and found in red cabbage are phytonutrients, they help to decrease the formation of wrinkles and inhibit hyperpigmentation. Red cabbage has six times more vitamin C than green cabbage. It also contains the detoxifying nutrient sulforaphane, which helps clear the toxins from the body that studies have shown, can lead to fine lines and wrinkles.
The Quick and Easy: Red cabbage and Kale; make a tasty summer salad or summer slaw.  Pair grated carrots, drizzle with lemon and olive oil.

7 Signs of Dehydration

Did you know 95% of the US population suffers from dehydration?
Dehydration happens when your body does not have enough water intake to properly function.
Some of the signs you might see when your body needs more water:

Dry Skin:  Our skin is one of the first things affected from dehydration. As your body gets less water, the body withholds water from skin cells to prioritize the most vital organs. The skin cells begin to dry out, tighten, and then sags and wrinkles.

Headaches:  With insufficient hydration, your blood volume drops, causing lower blood and oxygen flow to the brain. Blood vessels in the brain dilate, giving you a headache.

Physical Fatigue:  Water makes up most of your muscle tissue. When your body doesn't get enough water the muscles weaken, causing physical fatigue.

Mental Fatigue:  The brain needs oxygen to function. Lack in proper hydration creates a drop in blood and oxygen levels. The result is the inability to concentrate.

Constipation:  As your body's water availability drops, so does it's function to properly eliminate waste. Your body builds up toxins as byproducts.

Fluid Retention:  If you don't absorb enough water into your body, it will start to conserve the water it has. Water will be stored in your body at a higher than normal rate until it is re-hydrated.

Weight Gain:  Excess storage of water is the result of dehydration and fluid retention.
